SIMPLIFYING TAX RETURNS - HENRY REVIEW

Change is coming to the tax system in Australia. The ATO is in the process of considering whether to give Australians the option NOT to lodge an annual Tax Return. There are a few things to consider with this...

1. who will be eligible? It looks like only very simple tax payers will be eligible for this, tax payers who only have salary and wage income and interest income.

2. how will it work? It looks like taxpayers will have the option to tick a box on the payment summary electing to accept a standard tax deduction of say $300. There will be no need to go to an accountant and the tax office will send you your refund.

3. reasons to still use an accountant:

- Genereally going to an accountant will result in expenses of more than $300 being claimed in your tax return, this means you will only get your MAXIMUM TAX REFUND by going to a tax agent.
- The cost incurred in going to an accountant would generally be more than covered by the extra refund you recieve.

Lodging your tax return online through an accountant is easy.. simply visit http://www.taxspot.com.au and submit your tax information online and your return will be prepared by a qualified accountant.

I've never really understood how taxes are computed. It's quite confusing for me, more so as the computations differ in every country. Would someone have any idea on how much the property tax is of a Property in Vietnam ?
