Rental Laws in Australia

Australian landlords must get annoyed when they own properties in more than one state in Australia.

Each state and territory has a separate Residential Tenancy Act so rules for bonds, advance rent, ending a tenancy are different. Although they are similar each state has a unique residential tenancy agreement.

Surely common sense would say there is no difference where in Australia someone lives as to the prevailing rules regarding renting out a house.

The following gives a summary of each state and territory rules regarding residential tenancy agreements.

Is this another reason to have a republic?
